AgedBarn.com was started in January of 2007 with the goal of
documenting old barns in the Wisconsin area with the use of
black & white film.
Taking b&w photos of old barns has been a hobby of mine
for a quit some time now. These barns helped settle
this state and country. Blood and sweet went into
these barns. They were a way of life and a necessity
to our growth. Unfortunately with today's shrinking
farming community, these barns are being torn down and
forgotten about. How many times have you driven past
an old barn ruin and never gave it a thought. There is
so much history there and I'm trying to document it and
never forget what they did for us. Most of the
barns on this web site are from my area of
Campbellsport. I venture out to Sheboygan, Fon
du Lac, and Washington counties for these barns. My
goals someday is to travel all over the state taking photos
of the varieties of old barns.
About Myself:
My name is Bill Krueger and I am 27 years old. I
currently work at Times Printing in Random Lake.
If you'd like to know more about me and see some of my other
work, please visit SpoonClan.com
My Gear:
My gear that I use for the photos on this site are a Minolta
Maxxum 7000 SLR camera. This camera actually came from
my Grandma and is very old. I'd like to upgrade to a
newer camera in the next year.
I also use a Canon PowerShot S3 IS 6.0 mega pixel camera
now. Just so much easier getting my pictures on
the site.
Web Site Components:
I actually found a theme of a barn at Freewebtemplates.com.
However I did not like its coding or some of its
images. So I created mine after that template. I
ended up using only three images from it, the background and
the buttons. Everything else I did myself.
The barn in the upper logo is actually one just down the
road from me on the corner of Highway SS and Highway 45.
The Gallery was done with Simple
Picture Gallery Manager v 1.4.7. Of course it was
slightly modified for this site.
I've never actually have been a farmer, but I have lived on
two farms while I was younger. I've always loved old
barns and this is the result! |
